Goal

This Site is for essays on The New Pulp Heroes. It’s about time we catalog new characters appearing in books and anthologies. Since I do not have time to read everything being published, I will offer space here for legitimate creators of new pulp characters to send me their data, and I will post their essays. It is not my place to say what is, or what is not a new pulp hero, and the only changes I will make to essays will be editing and format. If you wish, include a jpeg of a book cover or b&w illustration if you have permission from the artist. By sending me your essays, you are giving me permission to promote and showcase this data. Essays should be up to 500 words, and include information on MC and back up characters, creator, title of books, and where the stories can be found. A paperback edition is now available for $12.00, plus $3.99 postage (US). The book will only be sold through us: Tom Johnson, 204 W. Custer St., Seymour, TX 76380. Send questions or data to fadingshadows40@gmail.com

THE BOOK CAVE FINAL EPISODE

THE BOOK CAVE FINAL EPISODE

The Book Cave #300 airs this week, and Ric shuts the door on this popular podcast – for now. It had a long run, and introduced many new pulp writers and their fiction to anxious listeners. Ric Croxton and Art SIppo were instrumental in many firsts in pulp fandom. Their enthusiastic reviews and interviews helped promote not only the new writers and New Pulp, but also promoted the original pulp magazines and their characters and authors. In 2010 & 2011 they were the recipients of the ECHOES Award. They never had a bad word to say about anyone or their books, and can be proud of their many, and truly monumental accomplishments. Visit The Book Cave at http://thebookcave.libsyn.com/webpage The archives will remain up for a period, but may eventually be dropped. Art Sippo will continue occasionally with his own podcast, Art’s Reviews http://artsreviews.libsyn.com/webpage  We want to wish Ric and Art the best in all their future endeavors, and hope that all of you will drop them a note of thanks. God Bless.

  1. Ric's college courses are getting more demanding. Plus, he's had several strokes, and needs to slow down. Art will have his own podcast every so often, speaking with new pulp authors about their books. Coming up will be an interview with Will Murray on the next Doc Savage coming out this month.
