Goal

This Site is for essays on The New Pulp Heroes. It’s about time we catalog new characters appearing in books and anthologies. Since I do not have time to read everything being published, I will offer space here for legitimate creators of new pulp characters to send me their data, and I will post their essays. It is not my place to say what is, or what is not a new pulp hero, and the only changes I will make to essays will be editing and format. If you wish, include a jpeg of a book cover or b&w illustration if you have permission from the artist. By sending me your essays, you are giving me permission to promote and showcase this data. Essays should be up to 500 words, and include information on MC and back up characters, creator, title of books, and where the stories can be found. A paperback edition is now available for $12.00, plus $3.99 postage (US). The book will only be sold through us: Tom Johnson, 204 W. Custer St., Seymour, TX 76380. Send questions or data to fadingshadows40@gmail.com

The Omega Ops Legion was formed and unified by the goals to combat injustice and improve the human condition. With roots dating back to ancient times, the Legion has left deep impressions throughout the pages of history. Their great influence stems from being affiliated with some of the brightest minds and most powerful warriors the world has ever known.
Fall of 1999 -- The North American chapter of the Omega Ops Legion is in the partial command of Bruce Kasparov: A captain in the U.S. Army Special Forces, a guardian within the Legion, and a hero in both circles.
Bruce and his allies refocus their efforts on dismantling the crime syndicate situated in their own backyard of New York. As Bruce digs into the belly of the New York City underworld, his ongoing crusade begins to draw the attention of powerful and sinister forces. Bruce may soon find himself in over his head when the largest and most dangerous criminal network in existence sanctions the hit on his life. The power struggle has begun, and all eyes are on Bruce...
Bruce Kasparov: A captain in the U.S. Army Special Forces, and a prominent member of Omega Ops Legion. He is a brash individual, who backs it up by being one of the best in the crime-fighting business. Bruce is of Russian-Armenian descent; broad, with dark hair and tan skin.
Peter Santos: A Legion member who grew up alongside Bruce in a foster home. Enemies who mistaken Santos’ kind nature and empathy for weakness, are quick to learn just how powerful an elite fighter from the Legion truly is. Santos has greying blonde hair, and a short, scruffy beard to match.
John Varick: Despite being a rank below Bruce and Santos in the Legion, Varick is as tough as they come. Though retired from the special operations unit GSG-9 in Germany, his Legion training sessions keep his field skills sharp as ever. Varick has jet-black hair and a goatee.
Alex Kasparov: The son of Bruce Kasparov. He eagerly awaits the day when he’s ready to follow in his father’s footsteps and join the Legion. Alex bears a striking resemblance to his father, except packaged into a tinier frame.
Laura Bennett: A highly motivated and intelligent NYPD detective. She works alongside the Legion to combat the criminal entities sifting through the New York City underworld. Laura has shoulder-length dark hair, tied back in a ponytail.
Roy Cameron: An easygoing NYPD detective, and good friend of the Legion. Despite his laid-back nature, when things get serious, he is a reliable pillar of strength.
Henry Schucker: Roy Cameron’s calm and collected partner. Henry is a middle-aged detective who has been around the block more than a few times.

Oswalt Fletcher: A former LAPD detective, newly transferred to the NYPD. Ambitious and determined to prove himself, Oswalt finds himself ready to use any means necessary to leave his mark.
Scorcher: Wild pink mane. A head resembling the horned skull of a bull. His bizarre appearance is rivaled by his equally bizarre antics. He has been branded Public Enemy No. 1 in New York City.
Samuel Turly: The North American speaker for the global criminal network he and Scorcher are a part of. Highly intelligent and meticulous, Turly has been on the most wanted list of several law enforcement agencies for the last fifteen years.
Tony Calzone: A mob boss in Scorcher’s pocket. Tony and his grunts do most of Scorcher’s leg work.
Ulysses Frost: A cold-blooded killer in Scorcher’s employment. Frost has striking snow-white hair and a formidable build.
Gregory Pike: A hulking figure with yellow skin, fiery red eyes, and a face like a gargoyle. His upper body is adorned with shimmering emerald and dark green armor. He functions as a wrecking ball against all that oppose Scorcher.
Jack Solly: An elderly crime lord that hides in plain sight under the guise of a real-estate mogul. Alongside smaller criminal groups, Solly and his men wage war against Scorcher for control of New York City’s criminal underworld.
Only one book is out so far, but more are planned. Where the stories can be found: www.omegaopslegion.com

When archaeologist Elizabeth Owen discovers an ancient artifact that imbues her with the abilities of the Olympian gods, she finds that with awesome power comes an awesome responsibility. For now she must be the protector of Mankind, the inheritor of mighty powers, Nemesis, the Avenger of Olympus.
Nemesis: Where Betty Owen had been now sat a woman in a stylized white chiton, an Hellenic gown, with a narrow silver belt girdling twice-around her waist and a royal purple scarf-like drape hanging from a small stone and metal ornament on the left shoulder. Her legs were clad in the leather boots associated with Greek warriors, with toes exposed and with laces up the front. The skirt of the chiton was narrow and reached her ankles. On a whim, she tore a slit along the left leg, giving her greater freedom of movement. She is a tall, and well-proportioned woman.
Duke Wilson: A tough, ready, and able leader of the digging crew, who steps up to save others when needed.
Guerdon Carlisle: Leader of the expedition, whose quest for knowledge has led him and his charges into deadly danger.
Cookie Bullfincher: Heavyset chief cook and handyman who serves up meals for the expedition and rides herd on the crew of student interns.
Marcus Pom, Doctor David Bryant, schoolteacher Alice Harding, and Turkish official Addreas Kerin, are the members of Carlyle’s expedition team.
Alison Carlsonn is the daughter of retired Swashbuckler the Meteor, who is undergoing a period of intense training to become worthy of wearing the uniform of Shooting Star.
Solara: the powerful alter ego of retired astronaut Helia Laurel, who is unaware of her counterpart, recently returned to public life. She uses her great abilities in the battle against the international Executive of Crime, Continent-Eight. Helia is an attractive brunette, while Solara is a gorgeous blonde. She has incredible mental and physical powers, and wears blue and gold.
The Emperor is Charles Lee Jackson II, central figure of the Emperorverse, smart, swift, capable of amazing feats, all but indestructible, well dressed, and able to charm beautiful women with a single smile, who not only leads the fight for law and justice against all odds but collects the records of his cases and those of his partners to dramatize them for you.
Doctor Double X: Dr. Xavier Xavier is a bored genius who has turned his talents to crimes of a scientific nature, and who will stop at nothing in the pursuit of knowledge and wealth.
Johnny Rainbow is Leader Six of Continent-Eight. He supervises criminal activities from his in the United Kingdon.         Known as “the Count”, looked like John Carradine, if he had been made up to look like Bela Lugosi. He was dressed in black, with a shirt that was ruffled at the collar and both sleeves.
Gayla Knight is pretty, deadly, and dangerous. She is a member of the Enforcement section of Continent-Eight, the Executive’s chief agents of mayhem. Her beauty made heads turn. She wore a black-leather cat suit, trimmed in metal studs and buckles; she wore three-inch heels, as though they were moccasins. Brushed-back auburn hair, chopped off at the shoulders, framed a pretty but austere face, with just a touch of lipstick to set off her mouth.
Professor Barton Norcroft is a genetics genius and experimenter whose love for science is unchecked by consideration of conscious.
Victoria Poten is the Jade Dragon, Leader Seven of Continent-Eight, whose ideas of criminal activities place her at odds with her partners and may lead to disaster. Like an alabaster statue, a Eurasian she was a work of great beauty; a cigarette holder came up to her lips. She was a figure of great poise and elegance.
Antonio Aguilar is Poten’s lieutenant, who follows her orders without question, no matter who may pay the price. He is tall and oily,  with slicked-back hair, and pencil-thin mustache.
Wiley Carruthers is the brother of a high-ranking Continent-Eight member, whose displeasure with the Executive has led him to become Poten’s ally. A total lack of hair, he is bald, and devoid of eyebrows, lashes, or beard stubble.
Doctor Yalta is Leader Two of Continent-Eight, whose simple love of research and a taste for pedestrian crime allies him well with the mainstream of the Executive, but who harbors a dread genetic secret. As Captain Yalta he wore a green jumpsuit with burnt orange boots and gloves; a golden “Y” rose from belt-buckle to shoulders, where a white cap was fastened by a pair of epaulet buttons.
There may be more than one book featuring this character, but I’ve only read one.

The Emperor

The Emperor

Creator: Charles Lee Jackson II
Characters
“The Swashbucklers” or “J-Men” (Justice Men – and Women)
The Emperor (Charles Lee Jackson II)
Max ‘Deck’ Decker (FBI Agent)
Richmond (Team’s Radio Operator)
David McDaniel (Author & Marksman)
Robert Short (Stuntman)
William Mills (Stuntman)
Shanghai Lil (Dangerous)
Heather McKenzie (Executive Secretary)
Illenya Petrina (Russian & lover)
Continent-Eight (The Bad Guys)
Heruchi (Ultimate Boss)
Maskman
Gayla Knight
Thuleans (Alien Bad Guys)
The Steel Skull
Sangars (Good Aliens)
Sslanthross

Charles Lee Jackson II runs CLJII Pictures, and he’s also The Emperor. When trouble comes, he and his team go into action. He’s very fast, somewhat bulletproof, and a little magical; his only shortcoming is his modesty.
Richmond is never seen by the public, and works from a secret location, and has never failed to be on the job when anyone radioed or telephoned.
Max “Deck” Decker is an FBI Agent, but also seems to work for The Emperor.
Maskman is the enemy. He works for Continent-Eight, and is in the high ranks. He is tall and broad-shouldered, his identity concealed by a steel helmet.
David McDaniel is an author of assorted spy novels and SF stories, and also a proficient marksman. At CLJII Pictures he is Director of Photography and Key Film Editor. He brushes a stray lock of his pale brown hair away from his green eyes.
Robert Short works as a stuntman, and drives a car replica of Black Beauty (from The Green Hornet TV series). Wiry-haired, he also was the special effects expert.
William Mills is a pal of Bob Short. Long dark hair swept back from a thin face; he has movie-star appeal. He was an actor, but better known as a musician and stuntman
Heather McKenzie is Executive Secretary of CLJII Studios. She is beautiful, smart, has pretty blue-green eyes and soft, light brown, almost blonde, hair. She also deals with Hollywood bimbettes looking for work.
Illenya Petrina is the daughter of a Russian scientist, Pyotr Vostok. Her blonde hair was pulled into a severe bun in the back. She has a milky complexion and bright blue eyes, with an attractive figure. Having a crush on The Emperor, she’s also his lover.
Shanghai Lil is dangerous with knives and a gun. She is gorgeous, smart, witty, and talented. Strawberry blonde hair cut a little short, and green eyes; she was slim and trim. She was snug in a black jumpsuit. The little Walther hung in a quick-draw pocket under her arm. The hilts of twin knives peeked over her boot-tops as she walked.
Gayla Knight made heads turn. She wore a black-leather cat suit, trimmed in metal studs and buckles; she wore three-inch heels, as though they were moccasins. Brushed-back auburn hair, chopped off at the shoulders, framed a pretty but austere face, with just a touch of lipstick to set off her mouth. She was an Enforcement Agent for Continent-Eight.
Heruchi is the ultimate boss of Continent-Eight.
Sslanthross is an alien from the planet Sanger, a satellite that orbits the star, Koths. The aliens stand about six feet tall, and perhaps half that wide, and shimmer like some oil-skinned amoeba, with one glaring orb above a yawning toothless maw.
There have been several books released in the series to-date, but I need to check with the author for their contents.
